UK Vaccine Ranking Plan Has Been Announced

The UK announced the action plan prepared in case the coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine is ready. As we have mentioned in our yesterday’s news, Pfizer gave hope to the whole world with its ready vaccine that can cure the virus with a 90% chance. Now the complex part left is the distribution of the vaccine.

It was determined that the priority in vaccination in the UK would be the elderly. Due to regulation, Queen Elizabeth II ranks second due to her age group.

Britain’s Deputy Chief Physician Professor Jonathan Van Tam said, “At the top of our priority list are nursing home residents and people working in nursing homes. Vaccination is planned to give priority to those who urgently need it, not those who can afford it’’

All members of the British Royal Family, especially Queen Elizabeth II, are not privileged in coronavirus vaccine. The first priority in vaccination is planned to be given to the residents and employees of nursing homes.

94-year-old Queen Elizabeth II is also in the group 80 and over, which includes the second priorities.

Latest updates on the pandemic in the UK:
With the death of 532 people in the last 24 hours in the country where restriction measures were back, the highest daily death toll in the last 6 months was reached. England ranks 8th in the world with more than 1 million 233 thousand cases.

Pashinyan, the PM of Armenia, Facing the Protests of the Armenian Nation

After six weeks of war over Nagorno-Karabagh, thousands of Armenian demonstrators took to the streets demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan over a truce that secured Azerbaijan’s territorial advance in Nagorno-Karabakh, that was signed on November, 10th.

Since that night, the streets of Armenia is full of angry protesters, shouting “Traitor Nikol” and “Whoever sold his land will go,” against Pashinayan, turned to the door of the Parliament building. The police built a wall in front of the door to secure the safety of the parliament. As the crowd grows in the square, where opposition demonstrations continue, security measures are gradually tightened in Yerevan city center.

While Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s signing of the Nagorno-Karabakh agreement drew the opposition in the country, 3 leaders of the opposition block made a press statement during the day and gave an ultimatum to Nikol Pashinyan.

The opposition, who wanted Pashinyan to leave office until midnight, stated that otherwise, they will continue to protest in the country. Pashinyan, the Prime Minister of Armenia, did not resign until the deadline given by the opposition. His call was not accepted, while the opposition calls for an extraordinary meeting of parliament. The meeting planned for the dismissal of Pashinyan could not be held, as a sufficient majority was not achieved in the parliament.

Russian peacekeers have arrived to Nagorno-Karabagh to maintain safety of both nations.

The peacekeepers are going to be controlling the safety of the Lachin corridor, a key connection between Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh region, said the chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the Russian General Staff, Sergei Rudskoy.

Also, it has been stated that Turkey and Russia will be having a joint center in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, as the peacemakers, as in some cities now owned by Azerbaijan, Armenians can also reside if they wish too, holding an Azerbaijani passport.
