“If there is no invasion, President Biden has agreed in principle to meet with President Putin,” White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said.
The White House announced that US President Joe Biden has agreed in principle to meet with Russian President Putin in the absence of Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.
White House Spokesperson Jen Psaki made a written statement on the diplomatic process during the Ukraine crisis. In his statement, Psaki pointed out that the USA will use all diplomatic methods to prevent an invasion against Ukraine and reminded that the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov are scheduled to meet in Europe this week.
The White House Spokesperson added that they are always ready for a diplomatic solution to the crisis. However, if Russia takes a step towards an invasion, they will impose swift and heavy sanctions. Psaki also stated that Moscow is still preparing for a comprehensive attack.
Biden met the National Security Council at the White House on Sunday and evaluated the course of the crisis with the security staff.
