While the European Union (EU) countries started to impose a ban on Russian ships, the transportation of many vital products, especially oil and natural gas, is exempted.
The EU announced the 5th package of sanctions against Russia due to the war in Ukraine.
It was decided to ban the ships from EU ports owned and operated by Russia. In recent days, member states have started to close their ports one after another. The ban will apply to all ships “registered under the Russian flag,” including yachts and pleasure craft.
