Asian stock markets started the week on a mixed course.
Shares in Asia-Pacific were mixed ahead of key central bank meetings this week.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng index fell 0.64 percent, while the Hang Seng Tech index fell 1.9 percent. In South Korea, the Kospi opened higher before falling 0.56 percent, and the Kosdaq fell 0.99 percent.
In mainland China, Shanghai Composite rose 0.22 percent, and Shenzhen Component rose 0.14 percent. The S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.15 percent in Australia.
MSCI’s most extensive index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan fell 0.4 percent.
The Japanese market was closed on Monday for a holiday.
The Fed and the Bank of Japan will announce their interest rate decisions this week.
Investors expect a 75 basis point rate hike from the Fed, according to the Fed funds futures tracker CME FedWatch.
