Asia-Pacific shares were mixed on Thursday as investors awaited inflation data from the US.
Asian stock markets are mixed. Nikkei 225 fell 0.44 percent in Japan, and Topix fell 0.63 percent.
Toshiba shares rose more than 9 percent after local media reported that Kyodo was a potential buyout.
South Korea’s Kospi tumbled 1.19 percent, and the Kosdaq dropped 2.89 percent. The Hang Seng index struggled to find direction in Hong Kong and was the last trading down 0.92 percent.
Mainland China’s shares fell. Shanghai Compound fell 0.4 percent, and Shenzhen Compound lost 0.31 percent.
In Australia, the S&P/ASX 200 traded higher.
MSCI’s most extensive index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan fell 0.46 percent. Thailand is closed on Thursday for a holiday.
