The Chinese military announced the start of a new drill near Taiwan.

The People’s Liberation Army of China said it held drills Sunday to test firepower in long-range air and ground attacks.
While no official statement was made about the end of the exercises, the China Eastern Area Command announced that it had decided to extend it. China also announced that it would hold military exercises in the Bohai Sea between August 8 and September 8 and south of the Yellow Sea on August 7-15.
On the other hand, Taiwan reiterated that it would not bow to pressure from China. Taiwan said the Chinese exercises tested attacks on the island and Taiwanese ships.
Announcing that China has placed crewless aerial vehicles near the islands around Taiwan, Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense reported that it responded by sending aircraft and ships and is closely monitoring the situation.
“China is brutally using military actions to disrupt regional peace and stability,” Taiwanese Prime Minister Su Tseng-chang told reporters on Sunday. We will never bow to pressure. “We defend freedom and democracy, and we believe Taiwanese disapprove of China’s acts of bullying at our door, showing strength and waving swords,” he said.
