Josep Borrell said that EU foreign ministers will discuss the issue of an embargo on Russian oil next week.
Borrell spoke at the entrance of the NATO Foreign Ministers Meeting.
Explaining that he will go to Ukraine in the coming days, Borrell said, “What Ukraine needs is less applause and more weapons.”
Expressing that he expects the EU to approve the latest sanctions package today, Borrell noted that the oil embargo issue will be discussed at the Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on April 11.
The EU had announced the previous day that it would impose an import ban of 4 billion euros a year on coal purchases from Russia.
