Taiwan reported that 39 Chinese warplanes and 13 ships were seen around the island.

Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense announced that 39 warplanes and 13 warships were sighted around the island on the fifth day of military exercises, launched by China after Nancy Pelosi’s visit.

In a statement made by the ministry, it was stated that Chinese air and sea vehicles were tracked with electronic tracking tools, patrol planes, ships and missile systems. The ministry reported that on August 4, 11 guided missiles fired from mainland China fell into what Taiwan considers “territorial waters”.

In addition, it was announced that 68 warplanes and 13 warships were seen around the island on 5 August, 20 aircraft and 14 ships on 6 August, and 66 aircraft and 14 ships on 7 August. While some areas were closed to ship and aircraft traffic due to the exercises carried out in 6 regions, it was reported that the voyages were interrupted due to security concerns in the Bosphorus. The Chinese military said in a statement yesterday that it would continue the exercises.
